The pursuit for a better qubit in silicon begins!

Silicon is the ideal material platform for building electrical and photonic circuits at scale. An atomic-scale qubit in silicon suitable for photonic quantum computing and quantum communication has been missing. In a collaboration with computational and experimental teams at Dartmouth and LBNL, our group is going to build a database, "a quantum defect genome", of viable qubits based on atomic-scale defects in silicon.
